چکیده
Agricultural residues have been traditionally used as energy resources for many years. In light of current environmental and fossil fuel supplies applications, agricultural are regarded sustainable production. However, the suitability to be renewable a co-fuel in coal combustion facilities has investigated. A thermal analysis was conducted investigate effect blending heating rate behavior Malaysian bituminous (Silantek), oil palm biomass (empty fruit bunch), their blends using thermogravimetric analysis. The investigation done an inert atmosphere at 10, 20, 40°C/min. Characteristics including proximate, ultimate, calorific analyses were also examined. Six different mass ratios selected from both samples study two materials. results showed that degradation empty bunch (EFB) occurred three stages while Silantek (SC) only involved regions due properties. SC/EFB did not follow individual samples, which non-additive suggesting there is interaction between biomass. outcome this research provides insight on biomass, enhances knowledge future generation.

Optimization of NaOH-catalyzed steam pretreatment of empty fruit bunch
BACKGROUND Empty fruit bunch (EFB) has many advantages, including its abundance, the fact that it does not require collection, and its year-round availability as a feedstock for bioethanol production. But before the significant costs incurred in ethanol production from lignocellulosic biomass can be reduced, an efficient sugar fractionation technology has to be developed. To that end, in the pr...
متن کاملStudies on the Co-combustion Behaviour of Coal/biomass Blends Using Thermogravimetric Analysis
In relation to future energy demand and fossil fuel crisis particularly in India, biomass is gaining its importance for possible utilization as co-fuel. This study focuses the use of „low temperature biomass char‟ instead of raw biomass in the blends to extract some specific advantages like lowering of grinding energy, intensification of heat energy, proper adjustment of „VM and fuel ratio‟ etc...
متن کاملConversion of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch to Biofuels
Crude palm oil production is reaching 48.99 million metric tonnes per year globally in 2011 and Southeast Asia is the main contributor, with Indonesia accounting for 48.79%, Malaysia 36.75%, and Thailand 2.96% (Palm Oil Refiners Association of Malaysia, 2011). Oil palm is a multi-purpose plantation and it is also an intensive producer of biomass. Accompanying the production of one kg of palm oi...
متن کاملDetermination of Coal Rank by Thermogravimetric Analysis
INTRODUCTION The thermogravimetric analysis patterns of coals and their residues reveal subtle differences between coals and changes which occur during the processing. It is the purpose of this paper to call attention to some of the various processes occurring during the TG analysis, and to show how these patterns can be interpreted in terms of changes or differences in coal structure. It is al...
